McPherson Painting is the only company in Australia certified to supply and install Acosorb acoustic spray and plaster — the world's most advanced seamless acoustic solution.
What Is Acosorb?
Acosorb is the world's leading seamless acoustic spray and plaster system — developed in the Netherlands, now exclusively available in Australia through McPherson Painting.
Unlike traditional acoustic panels or suspended ceilings, Acosorb is sprayed or plastered directly onto any surface — walls, ceilings, curves, domes, angles. It bonds completely to the substrate and dries to a seamless finish that looks like a high-end painted surface, while absorbing up to 95% of incident sound energy.
Made from high-quality recycled natural cellulose fibres, Acosorb is Cradle-to-Cradle Bronze certified, VOC-free, antimicrobial, and hygroscopic — it even helps regulate room humidity. Available in any colour from the full Pantone, NCS and RAL range.
The Process
We assess your space — size, ceiling height, substrate, use case — and specify the right Acosorb product and thickness to achieve your target acoustic performance.
Choose your finish (spray or plaster), texture (ultra-smooth to coarse-grained) and colour from any Pantone, NCS or RAL shade. We bring physical samples to you.
Our certified applicators spray or plaster the Acosorb system directly onto your ceiling or walls in a single visit. No tiling, no suspension systems, minimal disruption.
Full maintenance guide included. Acosorb is easily cleaned with a soft brush vacuum. Locally repairable and backed by a 5-year performance and adhesion guarantee.

Acosorb products achieve NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient) ratings of up to 0.95 — the highest available in any seamless spray or plaster system. The Acoplaster F achieves aw = 0.95 at 32mm thickness. The Acospray DC3 achieves maximum speech-frequency absorption at just 25mm.
Acosorb can be applied to virtually any surface — concrete, plasterboard, steel, profiled roof panels, glass, existing painted surfaces, and organic shapes including curves, arches and domes. It is suitable for new construction and retrofit/renovation projects alike. It can even be used in swimming pool environments due to its hygroscopic properties.
Yes. Acosorb products are Cradle-to-Cradle Bronze certified, made from recycled natural cellulose fibres, VOC-free, solvent-free, antimicrobial (ASTM G21-15 Grade 0), and hygroscopic. The Green Line product uses 100% post-consumer recycled content. Acosorb can also reduce building energy consumption by up to 10% through its thermal insulation properties — contributing to Green Star, WELL and NABERS ratings.
Acosorb is available in all colours. Standard ranges include white and multiple grey tones. Custom colours can be mass-produced to any Pantone Uncoated shade, or produced on a smaller scale matched to any NCS or RAL reference. Pigments are integrated directly into the material for a consistent, long-lasting colour finish.
Acosorb is easy to maintain — simply use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to remove dust. The soft brush prevents any surface damage. If the surface is damaged, it can be locally and invisibly repaired by reapplying material, sanding and blending. Full maintenance guidelines are provided at handover. Products carry a 5-year performance and adhesion guarantee.
